DESCRIPTION
Granada original tramway opened in 1904 and it was operated till 1971 before its total closure.
A modern light rail transport system opened on September 2017, linking the suburbs of Albolote and Maracena in the north to Campus de la Salud and Armilla in the south. In its outer sections it runs segregated from road traffic (with level crossings); in the city centre there's a 2,7 km long tunnel section (Univesidad-Hipica).
