DESCRIPTION
Erfurt tram opened in 1883 and it was electrified in 1894. The tram system was constantly extended; last extensions opened in 1990 (Salinenstrasse-Gruberstrasse), 1992 (Gruberstrasse-Zoopark), 2000 (Krampfertor-Ringelberg), 2001 (Egapark-Messe), 2005 (Hauptfriedhof-Bindersleben) and 2007 (Rieth-Salinenstrasse).
The current network consists in 6 lines (plus 2 night lines).
