DESCRIPTION
Vladikavkaz eletric tram opened in 1904; the initial metric gauge track (1000 mm) was converted to Soviet standard gauge (1524 mm) during 1934-1936. The network was extended in 1955, 1957-1959, 1961, 1964, 1969-1970 and 1987-1993; some routes were closed in 1990 and 1994-1995.
The current tram network consists in 8 lines.
