DESCRIPTION Dresden tram opened in 1872 (initial horse tram) and from that date it has been continuosly in service; tram was electrified in 1903. The latest network extensions were completed 1999 (Nothnitzer Strasse-Coschutz), 2004 (An der Flutrinne-Kaditz), 2008 (Gorbitz-Pennrich) and 2011 (Friedrichstadt Vorwerkstrasse-Messe Dresden).
The current network consists in 12 lines.
