DESCRIPTION Rostov-on-Don tram opened in 1887 (initial horse tram) and it was electrified in 1902; in 1918 this tram network was unified with the one set in Nachiczewan (an adjacent town). The tram service was suspended in 1941-1943 due to world war II.
The tram system reached its maximum extension in 1990 (~120 km); the current network consists in 5 lines.
