DESCRIPTION Bad Schandau electric tram (Kirnitzschtalbahn) opened in 1898 being operated from the beginning as a tourist service; in 1927 a huge fire destroyed the depot and the entire fleet. In 1969 the line was truncated at Bad Schandau end, due to the increasing road congestion; a new tram terminus was set at Stadtpark. A massive infrastructure renewal took place in 1985-1990.
