DESCRIPTION
Caen tram on tyres (Line A, Line B) opened in 2002. The so-called TVR (Transport sur voie reservee) runs north-south (Line A: from Caen Campus 2 to IFS Jean Villar) and north/east-south/west (Line B: Herouville Saint Clair-Caen Grace de Dieu); Lines A and B share a common central section (Copernic-Poincarè). Parking areas and cycle-ways are located along the route, in order facilitate the modal interchange towards TVR.
NOTE: at the end of 2011 Caen municipality decided to replace TVR system with a conventional tram (expected completion: 2019).
