DESCRIPTION
The first Bonn tram line opened in 1891 (initial horse tram); electrification was completed in 1905. After the second world war many routes were closed, but the system wasn't abandoned and continued to be operated.
Starting fron years '70s, the transit system was completed combining traditional tram lines with premetro/Stadtbahn sections (partly ground level and partly underground). A new tramline (Graurheindorf-Auersberg) entered into operation in 1994. The current LRT/tram network consists in 9 lines: 3 tram lines (Line 61, Line 62, Line 65) and 6 Stadtbahn/premetro lines (Line 16, Line 18, Line 63, Line 66, Line 67, Line 68).
