DESCRIPTION
Dusseldorf SkyTrain is a suspended monorail (Safege type) similar to the Dortmund H-Bahn; it was opened in 2002, in order to connnect the airport and the high speed trains Dusseldorf Airport Rail Station, with an intermediante stop at an important parking facility.
Works have been completed in 6 years, with many technical problems and delays (proposals for abandone the construction were rejected during the works); nevertheless, from its opening date the service has shown its utility, giving the users new opportunities to get from the airport to the railway station (or viceversa) in 5 minutes.
