DESCRIPTION
An automated cable-system connecting Piazzale Roma to Isola del Tronchetto (an artificial island) operates in Venice since 2010; there's an intermediate stop at Marittima, close to a parking facility. The track is totally elevated (viaduct height: from 5 to 6.5 m), with a 180 m long section (3 spans) crossing Canale del Tronchetto.
The line connects each other 3 of the most important touristic access points to Venice; furthermore, it interchanges with the modern tram on tyres line (Mestre-Venice route) terminating at Piazzale Roma.
