DESCRIPTION
Kiel tram network opened in 1881 (initial horse tram)); its electrification took place in 1896. After the second world war it was continuously reduced and finally closed in 1985.
A short heritage tram line opened in 1996 inside Schonberger Strand transports museum (VVM Museumsbahnen), about 20 km far from Kiel and it's operated with some old tramcars (including one taken from the former Kiel tram network).
