DESCRIPTION
Reims tram opened in 1881 (initial horse tram) and it was electrified in 1901. The original tram network was closed in 1939.
A modern tram network (Tram A, Tram B) opened on April 2011. Tram A and Tram B share a common section from Reims Neufchatel to Mediatheque Croix Rouge; at Mediatheque Croix Rouge the track branches east (up to Hopital Debrè) and south-west (Bezannes Champagne TGV).
The 2 tram routes pass through the city centre, serving some crucial urban polarities such as the railway station, the theatre, the campus, the main hospital and TGV railway station. Four park&ride facilities are located along the track.
